A St. Louis jury yesterday convicted 61-year-old Johnnie Pulley of second-degree murder in the shooting last July of 17-year-old Brandon Colenburg.

Then jury recommended that Pully get the minimum ten-year sentence and then pleaded with the judge to suspend the sentence and serve probation.

This is a man, mind you, who tracked Colenburg on two Metro buses, and then shot him on the sidewalk in broad daylight. Pulley's attorney had argued that the shooting was in self defense and claimed that Colenburg was the teen who beat Pulley in an incident weeks earlier.

Colenburg's parents argued that their son wasn't the person who attacked Pulley and certainly didn't deserve to be shot dead in an act of vigilante justice.

Sentencing is scheduled for July 15.
