Man Killed Crossing Kingshighway in Hit-and-Run in South St. Louis

A 66-year-old man was crossing Kingshighway at Connecticut near Tower Grove Park last night when he was struck and killed by a car that ran allegedly ran a red-light.

Witnesses reported that the man was in the crosswalk around 9:11 p.m. when he was struck by a Ford Contour traveling north on Kingshighway.

The vehicle drove off and was later abandoned by four individuals -- possibly of Hispanic origin -- according to police. Anyone with information regarding the accident is encouraged to call CrimeStoppers at 866-371-TIPS.
