SNAP Protests SLU's Commencement Speaker; Vatican Rep Allegedly Called Sex Victim "Idiot"

Pietro Sambi, that's Italian for "Don't $&#@ with Me!"
The Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests (SNAP) is holding a demonstration right this very minute on the corner of Lindell and Grand, just outside Saint Louis University.

The group is upset that SLU has invited the Vatican's U.S. Ambassador, Archbishop Pietro Sambi, to serve as the school's commencement speaker on May 15. Sambi made headlines this week when it was reported that he has insulted (repeatedly) a Washington D.C. man who claims he was abused by Catholic priests as a child in Italy.

As Gawker reported this weekend (via PoliticsDaily.com), the alleged victim has set up shop outside Sambi's D.C. office where the archbishop has no choice but to walk by the man each day.

The insults Sambi has supposedly hurled at the alleged abuse victim, however, are completely voluntary and have come in his native Italian. They include calling the man an "idiot, cretin, imbecile, tool, moron and a "stinking pervert."

As in...

"Shame. Shame. Shame. Shame. You are a stinking pervert." (Schemo. Schemo. Schemo. Schemo. Sei un pervertito fetente.) Oct. 21, 2008

In other news, SNAP says it has uncovered the names of two more former SLU faculty who've allegedly committed sex crimes. That after the organization last month outed a former SLU professor who allegedly committed sex crimes and still serves as a lecturer at other Catholic universities.
