Grafton Towboat Festival Canceled -- Adjust Your Plans Accordingly

The Alton Regional Convention and Visitor's Bureau reports that recent rains have raised the Mississippi River at Grafton to within a few inches of spilling over the sea wall; and a minimum of two feet of exposed sea wall is required to safely moor the vessels.
Per the visitor's bureau: "While festival organizers are disappointed, public safety is of the utmost concern. The festival will not be rescheduled in 2010.
