South County Shooting Spree Leads to Three Arrests in Metro East

Three men are in custody on suspicion of shooting two men late last night and early this morning in the south St. Louis County.

The first shooting occurred neary Jefferson Barracks Park. The second shooting followed minutes later at Baumgartner and Telegraph.
According to St. Louis County Police, the first shooting occurred around 11:55 p.m. yesterday in the 400 block of Winston Drive. A 25-year-old victim was shot after a short confrontation on the front porch of his residence. The victim then fell into his residence and closed the front door. As he did so, the suspects fired more shots into the residence front door and picture window.

The man was transported to a local hospital where his injuries were reported as non-life-threatening. The victim said he did not know the suspects.

Minutes later police received another call of a shooting near Baumgartner and Telegraph Road. There officers discovered a 23-year-old man shot while walking down the street in an apparent robbery attempt. The victim said he also did not know the suspects.

The suspects were described as black males, in their early 20s, all occupying a four-door vehicle. Their description was broadcast on police radio to authorities in other jurisdictions. After a chase through parts of Jefferson County the suspects crossed the Jefferson Barracks Bridge into Illinois where they were successfully pulled over and arrested.
