The incident occurred Tuesday around 9:30 a.m. outside the St. Louis County Courthouse in Clayton. Charles Powell, 40, of Florissant, was walking through the parking lot to his car when Cork laid on the gas, striking him with her vehicle twice and eventually pinning him against another car. Powell sustained multiple injuries and was rushed to Barnes-Jewish Hospital.
Cork, 51, is being held at the St. Louis County Justice Center on a $250,000 cash-only bond. Investigators say they don't know what triggered Cork to run over her ex, but it could be that he brought his fiance to the court hearing. Cork and Powell were squabbling over a few hundred dollars in the small-claims division.
