Anti-Strip Club Law Upheld

• If the dancers can be "semi-nude" but not fully nude, then all a dancer needs to do is wear a hat. As long as she's wearing SOMETHING, she's not fully nude. She just needs to make sure it doesn't fall off.

• How come that religious fanatics who are greater menace to children and women can impose their sick lifestyle on others? Isn't America the land of the free?

• Whoever thought a woman has the right to do with her body as she so chooses? This is Missouri, gosh darn it! And another thing: about the part of the law that says a strip club can't be built within 1000 feet of a church or school. What if someone proposed a law saying that a church or school couldn't be built within 1000 feet of a strip club? OMG, wouldn't people blow their circuits over that one?

• Prediction: even if the law is upheld, it will change very little. A few clubs will close, a few will move, nobody will live more than an hour or two's drive from a high-mileage strip club. What the people who write these laws usually don't realize is that strip clubs are already illegal in most places they are. They don't get away with it because of some gap in the law, or even because of judges who rule that it's First Amendment expression. They get away with it because some tiny little jurisdiction decides they need the revenue badly enough, or because the cops and the liquor control officers are on the take, or because the local prosecutor has a limited budget and doesn't care enough about strip-club cases to divert cop and prosecutor budgets away from drug dealing and murder to deal with strippers. Usually, it's some combination of two or more of these factors. And the club owners will find some jurisdiction within an hour or two of everywhere in America that meets these criteria, no matter what you change the laws to read.
