Author Buzz Bissinger Not Finished Trashing Tony La Russa, Albert Pujols

• Wait, the way to defend American patriotism is to subversively undermine someone else's ability to earn a living? That's more Hitler-esque than anything Beck has done to this point. Way to jump to the head of the class, Concerned! The whole Twitter episode reads to me like Bissinger was just p-ss-d that the Cards dropped 3 of 4 to the Nats and wanted to blame the poor performance on something other than the team on the field.

• Buzz Bissinger made a vicious attack against Albert Puhols, Tony Larussa and American patriotism. If you think American patriotism is OK, just simply place another book in front of any Bissinger book you may see at the local book store on your next visit as a quite protest. Works quite well. A simple way to let Mr. Bissinger know America is not really that bad.

• So I guess those of you who think TLR and Pujols "have a right to do what they want, think what they want etc" had no problem with what Natalie Maines of the Dixie Chicks had to say about GWB while he was in office.

• Albert and Tony haven't abdicated their constitutional rights because they have a job that's in the public eye. As Evelyn Beatrice Hall said, "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it."

• I like how he twatted ( :) ) that TLR was livid about his comments - I'd put $ on TLR not giving 2 shits what this dumbass says. TLR and Pujols have a right to do what they want, think what they want etc - the fact that they are public figures doesn't change that. And if you're no longer a fan of ttheir on-field stuff due to this, you're a moron plain and simple - it's baseball, not politics.

• So you don't like her, because she acknowledges that homosexuals can't procreate? Got it. I'll give you this, she isn't exactly correct (scientifically). Lesbians can procreate by means of a sperm donor... I have a couple of (immature) friends that I'm sure would be willing to help. BUT, none of that really has anything to do with the rally... she spoke about the marriage issue earlier this year. If anything, you are disappointed with her speech on marriage, not faith, charity, and racial equality. By the way, A.P. and TLR (to my knowledge) haven't been involved with the gay-marriage debate... so why are you disappointed in them?

• Alveda King called gay marriage the equivalent of "genocide." (http://tpmlivewire.talkingpointsmemo.com/2010/08/dr-kings-niece-calls-gay-marriage-genocide-video.php ). So no, being the daughter of MLK's brother does not make her automatically enlightened. Go figure.

• Well, B. Adams, it sounds to me like you take offense to a lot of things these days... I'm happy to be on the list (and in good company). By the way, since I didn't address your "innocuous" post directly, you must have assumed that you were a 'hater'. Look, you said it, not me! I assumed you were Bryan Adams, the rock legend, so I went to Youtube and put "Straight from the Heart" on repeat. I AM a little perturbed in my understanding of your disappointment with Alveda King; what was wrong with her presence and speaking at the event? She spoke of faith, charity, and equality... which are honorable concepts, right? AND, if they are honorable, then what is the problem with Glenn Beck being the guy who gets the snowball rolling down the hill? In my opinion Brad Pitt is a boner and Kanye West is a mega-douche, but their post-Katrina efforts were honorable (even though K.W. was a little misguided). Ultimately, the event raised $5.5 Million for the Special Operations Warrior Fund... which doesn't seem dishonorable to me.

• Here is a serious answer to your "serious" question. Yes, I am disappointed in Alveda King as well. Since you don't know me, and my post was relatively innocuous, I take offense at your description of anyone who is of a different opinion than yours as a 'hater'.

• I have a serious question for those that are disappointed in A.P./TLR: Are you disappointed in MLK's neice (Dr. Alveda King) for speaking at the rally? I'll take 10-1 odds that most 'haters' either didn't know that she was a speaker at the event OR think that she was used as a 'pawn' and feel bad for her... because she must not be smart enough to realize that Glenn Beck is a racist...

• TLR and Pujols have a right to attend whatever rally they want. And I have the right to be disappointed with their thinking.

• Someone should tell Bissinger that the TV show was better than his book. I played college football and am an avid reader... couldn't get through his book. He did a remarkable job at taking good content (that was handed to him before his own eyes) and making it boring. Buzzzzzzzzzz offfffffff.

• How very sad. Whatever one might feel about Glen Beck, that TLR and Pujols do not have the right in a free society to attend whatever rally they choose without being trashed by some small minded twit. That is just so sad!
