The Mexico Goat: Eat this, Franzen.
If you've been missing the Tower Grove Coyote, cheer up! Now you can befriend the Roaming Mexico Goat.

The goat was first spotted wandering around Mexico, Missouri, about ten days ago. Since then, he has followed in the coyote's pawprints and started up his own Facebook page. Currently he has more than 8,000 fans, some from as far away as Poland and Malaysia.

Mexico's animal control officer Joe Horton told the Associated Press that he is "earnestly" trying to catch the goat, which he has named (somewhat unoriginally) Billy Goat Gruff.

Unlike the "baboon" that terrorized Florissant two weeks ago, the Mexico goat appears to be real. An enterprising Mexican caught him on video:

The folks of Mexico, with the exception of Horton, seem to enjoy having a goat wandering around town. Notice how the videographer made no mention about calling animal control.

The goat, meanwhile, has been spending his days exploring Mexico and its environs and reveling in his sudden fame.

"Now I know what Paris Hilton feels like with all the paparazzi," he mused on Saturday night. "Well except for the getting arrested part. (please nothing inappropriate) I've been followed from one end of town to the other.... Thanks for keeping the order, MPS."

He's even had to resort to disguises, like a cowboy hat to cover his horns so he could attend the Mexico Air Show.

But could the fame be going to his head?

"Not sure what happened at the pond last night," he wrote this morning. "I woke up this morning and my collar was half way up a maple tree. Took half an hour to get it down."

Oh, Billy, say it ain't so!
