Presenting BasilMarceaux.com for Governor of Tennessee

Categories: Politics

Friends, it's primary day tomorrow. Based on preliminary polls, the majority of you neither know, nor care, even though Kit Bond's Senate seat is up for grabs.

Things are much more exciting down in our southeastern neighbor Tennessee, where Basil Marceaux of Soddy-Daisy (yes, really) is on the Republican ticket for governor. In a video for WSMV-TV news, Marceaux attempted, somewhat incoherently, to present his views after introducing himself to the voting public as "Basil Marceaux.com."

Among other things, Marceaux proposes to encourage growing grass in empty lots and sell it to pay for the state's expenses. It appears he means plain old grass, not marijuana, but he also wants to abandon stop signs and gun control, so who really knows?

On his website, Marceaux expands upon his campaign promises. Here is his health plan:

2.Equal Health care a. a free gift program b. take a look at and redo all mandtory insurance programs c. See why dental is not in most plans a tooth aches hurt more than a back aches and no teeths depresses people

Not even a liberal elitist could disagree with that, though it's unclear whether Marceaux's candidacy will increase voter turnout in Tennessee.
