• I'm with Brad....I think they should have plenty to at least charge him with. Either way...he'll go down hard in civil trial if he escapes criminal charges because of who he is...which is bs.

• I just read the pathetic e-mail that Brian sent out to all of his supporters recently still showing signs of a great christian man - cut it out - no one is buying it. I just hate that he keeps bringing his family into this ordeal as he is the one who caused all these problems for himself. He is the one who has cheated on his wife on several different occasions, the one who has this temper he cannot control, and the one who has now assaulted and threatened to kill someone and facing possible felony charges. Your lawyer is telling you to keep your mouth shut because your in hot water as it is and he doesn't want you getting yourself into even more trouble than you already are - not because you want to break the silence. That is one of the most detailed police reports that I have ever read. If you can read that police report and think someone could just make that up with that level of specifics, you are off your rocker. There are a few key pieces of information here on this - 1) Is his treasurer going to lie his ass off like Brian or come clean since he really didn't have a big part in it. 2) Does Nieves own a gun? I bet you Bell knows what it looks like. 3) His wife obviously knows that she had a caller recently - Is she willing to lie about that as well - Does she even know what happened in the office with her psychopath husband?

• Instead of bashing either side, let's take a step back, take a deep breath and let the truth prevail. To all Christians I ask you to band together and pray. Pray for the truth to be revealed in such a way that it is refutable. Then stand back and watch God work.

• I agree with Lynn there is something about Nieves that in my gut says he has major problems. After seeing his tv commercials, his fascination with guns, insinuating J. Griesheimer as a liar, all of that was enough for me. If a person is going to be in politics, they are going to have to be prepared to have dirty campaigns. Mud slinging was going on in all kinds of directions, as do a lot of campaigns. If he can't handle it tactfully, then perhaps politics isn't where he needs to be. And if everyone knocked the crap out of everyone else every time something negative was said, wouldn't that be a messed up debate! This isn't kindergarten. Yes people are going to fight dirty. That has been going on forever. How you handle it, with dignity is how you can earn respect, not whining, slapping, threatening, or saying oh poor me, I said some bad things, but they can't do that to me. If this is indeed true, which in my personal opinion, at least some of it is. Someone that can't handle the publicity of a public life, shouldn't be in it. Especially if they are going to threaten the very people they represent. No matter what those people do. You can't go around wanting to threaten people. That is called a "bully". Like I told a friend before the election, "something about this Nieves guy just scares me. He is going to end up being Missouri's Blagojevich." She called me a few days ago & said, "do you have the news on? Well, I think your gut feel was right."

• actually, Brians business endevors were quite succesful, and I am not involved with his ventures, but i have known him for a long time. when i first met him in 1993, he had been semi-retired for 5 years already. I am a democrat, i am not a 'drone', nor am i a supporter of his campaign or candidacy- but I do know that we were sorry to loose him to other interests - Amway has made more millionares than any other company in the US, with the exception of microsoft ... and there is nothing wrong with buying cars at wholesale and selling them at fair market values, but that's all quite irrelivant here now isn't it.

• Well, all I can say is not really surprised. I have been acquainted with Brian for a number of years...and yes, I agree with the statement that if you don't agree with him, then YOU are the idiot. While I applaud him for his service in the Navy, his separation from service was frought with controversy as well. Unfortunately, he did not take advantage of his service to get some education, and he looks down on those "fools" who go to college. And to Lynn's point, a lot of his "rabid supporters" are leftovers from his failed Amway business, including Dave Bailey. They mean well, but are a bunch of mindless drones who can be whipped into a frenzy by tossing some paranoia. He stumped for that biz for a number of years - now on to something else. He is only running for State Senate because his House term is up and he can't get a real job - other than car sales or Amway, or now MonaVie. Same shtick, same Brian.

• Soon the facts will all come out and this fool will be in hand cuffs. I've been following this story since it hit the fan yesterday, mostly just out of dislike for the guy and the fact that he is a pompous s-o-b. According to KSDK, first of all this guy's "witnesses" has now been confirmed as his own treasurer, Dave Bailey from his recent post on twitter. The police report filed is also showing that he was involved - locking the door and shutting the blinds as he watched this maniac perform all these ridiculous acts. I think both of these guys should get locked up for this. Who do these people think they are thinking they can get away with this stuff? These are the type of people you want possessing legislative power?

• I have been in the Franklin County political arena for six years. I also classify myself as a Republican. During this time I have had numerous interactions with Mr. Nieves (no, not affairs people). I mean average, talk-at-the-church-picnic type things. The guy makes my skin crawl. Sometimes you just sense those things in your bones. He absolutely smacks of self-interest. I've heard the rumors and I don't doubt for one minute many of these allegations are true. But you'll never convince his rabid supporters otherwise. And that is truly a shame, for those he's hoodwinked & for the taxpayers in general. He's a loose cannon folks - big time.

• How could anyone believe a word from this obsessive child? After repeatedly attacking Mr. Nieves by name, he announces on Twitter that: �Election day is rough on someone with anxiety/panic disorder�. I could not fathom the type of individual that is so irresponsible to have placed this child in a position he was clearly unable to handle mentally. A lot of people are jumping to very dangerous and politically motivated conclusions based on the word of a potentially ill being.

• Keith.. You refer to Mr. Nieves, as "Senator".... He has only won the primary. Not a Senator yet, and hopefully just killed his chance!!

• First, I know from the mail election junk I've received in the mail and knowing both canidates personally that many made up lies were put out by mr. Bell and Dick Stratman's campaign. Did anyone not hear the after election statements by Stratmans staff? Why is it that no one wants to really let it soak in that it is the very sore loser's staff head making these claims? If it had been me, I would have beat the hell out of mr. bell for many of the false claims he made not only about Brian, but especially Brians wife and family. It's one thing to campaign for an office, it's something else to use a campaign to make false reputation belittling claims on someones wife and family. Would the ones on here saying Brian Nieves is out of his mind like to meet him and then realize after speaking with him he is NOT out of his mind? He researches his positions carefully and has become a student of the Constitution, something all lawmakers should do! Joe Kavadas, good to see you defending Brian also. I've enjoyed the 2 of you going back and forth on issues and points both make. We need that in politics, not the belittling of a persons family!

• First off, "anonymous", know what your talking about! Evidently your brain just farted and turned into diarhea through that sewer you call a mouth! I know Brian personally for over a decade now. He won the election and is not stupid enough to do what he's being accused of! When you run your mouth and have no facts your word then becomes void and then peoples trust in you has been comprimised. This goes for anybody on here that has given Senator Brian Nieves negative feedback! I look at all the posts on these different news websites and see all sorts of conflictions. You people baffle me to no end. To the Democrat that was desent enough to give Brian a thumbs up on him lookin out for his family, thank you. I know his family and they all are good people and Brian never should have had to endure what he did during the race. He is one of the very, very few that has not let the money and power overtake him like your average politician, he is a true patriot.

• I have been a democrat for about 5 years, and a rather constant opinionated thorn in brian's side for the last year. I have expressed my 'disappointment' in a lack of specific posotions on real issues outside of 'tea, etc' ... however i can tell you, if brian did anything to this guy which he ALLEDGES, then I can guarantee you one thing: He must have deserved it! And just from reading your reprint, I am glad to hear he is accused of defending his wife. politics and 'philisophical differences aside, we need more of that, and I'm certain Bobby Kennedy would do the same.

Everyone knows he's crazy enough to do this and now he is going to pay for it...big time. I think this guy is about to be in for a world of hurt.
