Headed to Columbia this weekend? Watch out for the crazies! The Midwest UFO (yes, unidentified flying objects) Conference hits the city for the weekend
, where experts are billed to speak on UFO sightings in Arizona, Colorado and elsewhere.
And, yes, it's open to the public. It'll run you $45 though, so if two days worth of gawking at conspiracy theorists is your cup of tea, be prepared to shell it out.
More details on the events planned for the weekend behind the cut.
The conference is sponsored by Missouri MUFON
(a chapter of the International Mutual UFO Network, natch) and is expected to pack the Days Inn with nuts for the weekend.
Keynote speaker Chuck Zukowski will talk about his investigations of the Colorado Cattle Mutilations, and Joe Palermo, who has claimed to 'walk with the supernatural" for his entire life, will relate his experience not only of his 1976 Bigfoot sighting (in Creve Coeur Park, OMG!), but also his first UFO sighting--when he was just a baby. Awwww.
Our favorite scheduled panel, though, is "How to Document Your UFO Sighting." Check out the description, it's pure gold:
At some time in our lives we've all seen something or know someone who has seen something that we can't explain. Learn how to document your UFO sighting and what mistakes to avoid. Also, take a pictorial journey with Chuck Zukowski and Debbie Ziegelmeyer as they tell you the story of how they became an Investigating team and where it has taken them in the past 10 years.
Mistakes to avoid when documenting your UFO sighting: Telling someone that you have a UFO sighting to document.
There's also a mixer scheduled tonight, from 6-9 p.m., in the Days Inn bar. Hop in your car right after work and you should be able to make it on time! Say it with us: bow-chicka-yeah-yeahhhh.
Happy UFO-ing, friends, and remember: keep your eyes on the skies.
[Cue Twilight Zone theme music.]
