King Solomon would be so proud.
So, that's that. Yesterday, Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster announced his office had reached a settlement with Premier Exhibitions, the Atlanta-based company slated to install a display of plasticized human cadavers next month inside the Galleria.

As you may recall, the shopping mall's decision to present BODIES the Exhibit so alarmed Congressman Todd Akin earlier this summer that the Republican from Town and Country fired off a letter to the owners of the Galleria condemning the exhibit. Akin then contacted the AG's office to demand that they investigate the exhibit.

At issue is whether or not the bodies in BODIES could be executed prisoners from China, particularly persecuted Christians or members of Falun Gong. Premier admits that they got the cadavers from China, but cannot say whether or not the bodies were prisoners.

So, the settlement?

The show will go on, but with a warning. Per the AG's office, Premier will feature the following disclosure on its advertising and website. The warning will be in bold and ALL-CAPS stating:
Premier cannot independently verify the complete provenance of the human remains in this exhibition. They were obtained from a plastination facility in China, which received them from medical and research universities in China. These universities received the remains from medical examiner authorities in the Chinese Bureau of Police. The specimens are unclaimed by next of kin and there is no written documentation that any of the persons consented to the plastination and/or exhibition of their bodies.
The show opens October 2 in the former Mark Shale. Tickets are $22 for adults.
