A group, reportedly comprised mostly of local investors, has submitted a proposal to purchase the shuttered Chrysler plant in Fenton.

According to the St. Louis County Economic Development Council, the unnamed group want to turn the plan into a technology part for companies in the business of alternative and renewable energy.

The plant has been idle since last year, when it last employed some 1,200 workers. The property has a price tag of around $30 million.
