Back in 2006, RFT warned that Rock Hill was poised for commercial upheaval: a $95.4 million redevelopment at the northwest corner of McKnight and Manchester roads was going to bring in a Target and push out small shop owners like Michelle Barron and her Book House.

Turns out, we were wrong.

The redevelopment never came through. On Tuesday, the blight designation on the neighborhood was lifted. And the Book House is still there.

Read about the blight development in the Post-Dispatch.
