Dennis Iagulli: Sexual Assault Added to Torturing and Dismembering of Homeless Man
According to a report out today, Dennis Iagulli, 41, was charged earlier this month with two counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault stemming from the murder. Iagulli's alleged accomplice in the killing, 36-year-old James Pierson, has not been charged with sexual assault but is accused of first-degree murder.
Iagulli and Pierson met Irvin at the downtown St. Louis homeless shelter New Life Evangelistic Center and allegedly lured the victim to East St. Louis after getting into an argument with him. Once there, the men allegedly shot him in the neck, dismembered his body with saws, hammers and knives, and then set his body parts on fire.
