Sheryl Crow: Robo-Calling for Tommy Sowers

• @ AJ My panties aren't in a bunch... as I said, she is insignificant. I was just explaining to Sharon Hopkins "why" she is insignificant and why it's ok to say that.

• Jesus H Christ-These are the most old-fogey, hippocritical, biased and unsupported comments I've probably ever seen on here. OK, maybe not, but you all getting your panties in a bunch over someone stumping for someone else-which is done for almost every candidate in some respect-is so absurd. Grow up-move on-don't vote for him if you don't like it. Wow.

• Sharon, The only thing that I said that is debatable is my opinion on her music. Obviously, she has sold a lot of records so there are people that like her music. I, however, am not a big fan. Maybe I was too harsh; I'll reflect on that. I wont take your advice, however, on censoring myself about Sheryl Crow. This isn't the first time she tried to use her stardom to persuade people politically. Here are a couple of highlights: * She was one of the most outspoken critics of the Iraq War -- which is fine -- now she is touting Sowers Iraq service. * She calls Tea Party people "uneducated" and "fear-based", which I think is a little insulting and elitists. I'm in no way a part of the Tea Party, but she is obviously an elitist if she considers a movement that large to be just a bunch of idiots. She would do better for herself if she sees a movement that widespread and realizes there is actually something to it (despite her obvious political differences with the movement). It should be noted, I think, that studies have been done and show that Tea Party people are more educated on politics than average. * She suggests that people only use one square of toilet paper per bathroom visit to save the planet. There is no way in hell anyone sane would practice that... and I will bet my next paycheck that she doesn't even practice that. * One of her recent songs is suggesting censorship of Sara Palin (i.e. ... someone unplug her microphone). You can't, however, censor Crow, because you will get a phone call... if you want it or not. So, in conclusion, Crow has put herself in the position to be judged... and in my judgment she is desperate to be important/significant. BUT, she isn't. AND, she deserves to know that!

• Kenny, if criticizing Sheryl Crow, who by the way is a very nice person, is all you can say, it would have probably been better off un-said.

• Crow suffers from the same complex that most people in Hollywood suffer from: They want to feel significant. Actually, she is anything BUT significant. She sings songs, and most of them are garbage. Her most recent song that was listen-worthy was actually written by Kid Rock. I think she is starting to realize that she is getting too old for mini-skirts and is looking for a way to be taken seriously...

• oh wow,, he is geting the hollywood obama machine involved,,this should really make the local folks vote for him in droves!!!NOT

• If Tommy Sowers could promise more than one bar that would stay open past 8:00 in metro Kennett/Hayti/Carruthersville, he'd have my vote.
