The group is charged with dozens of smash-and-grabs.
St. Louis County police have charged four people in connection with thefts from vehicles in West County following a stakeout in Queeny Park, the site of several recent car break-ins.

During their surveillance of the park, police observed two male subjects looking into vehicles. Both male subjects left the scene in separate cars. Police stopped one of the vehicles and discovered a GPS. system that had other parks and business information stored into the system. Upon contacting the police agencies that patrol those parks, the county cops discovered that those parks also experienced similar larcenies from vehicles. The driver of the vehicle was transported to the West County precinct for a further investigation.

A key to a local hotel was found on the driver's person. St. Louis County police then responded to the hotel where three occupants were discovered inside one of the hotel rooms. A consent to search the room disclosed stolen items in the form of checkbooks, drivers licenses, credit and debit cards, and numerous electronic items.

This group is believed to be responsible for ten incidents of theft in West Count and another 30 reported incidents in the St. Louis Metropolitan Area that has generated approximately 75 victims.

St. Louis County Police Chief Timothy Fitch stated: "I commend the actions of the officers from the West Count Precinct. Their dedication and investigation skills led to the removal of perpetrators from our streets."

Police are looking at other larcenies from vehicles to determine if they were committed by these suspects. Anyone with any information on this case or has been a victim of similar unreported larcenies in West County should contact the St. Louis County Police at 889-2341 or the St. Louis Regional Crimestoppers at 866-371-TIPS (8477). For further information regarding this investigation, please contact West County Precinct Detective Charles Faasen at (314) 615-0720.
