St. Louis Cardinals Manager Tony La Russa may have taken a sudden turn to the right with his attendance at a Glenn Beck rally this summer.

Tony La Russa may agree with Sarah Palin about "restoring honor" -- but we're guessing they disagree about animal rights.
But La Russa's parting with his new fellow travelers on at least one issue that's long been dear to his heart: animals.

In a commercial newly released by the Humane Society-backed campaign to stop so-called "puppy mills," La Russa exhorts Missouri to approve Prop B this November.

You can watch the video here.

The Prop B campaign has received major support from the Humane Society of the United States, the ASPCA, and some wealthy coastal donors.

The opposition, while significantly lagging in funding, has received endorsements from nearly a dozen Republican state representatives. They say Prop B would put good breeders out of business and that more enforcement, not more regulations, are needed.
