According to police, 27-year-old Walter Lee Martin of the 4000 block of Meramec was wearing "dark clothing" when his bike was struck by a driver in a 2001 Chevy Impala. The driver stayed with the victim until paramedics arrived and has not been charged. Martin was rushed to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Two weeks ago another St. Louis cyclist, Ryan Skyles, barely survived an accident with a hit-and-run driver near the Missouri History Museum.
