Screenprinted tortillas are coming to Cherokee Street
Whip out your [bound and boutique-crafted] day planners, all you printmaking junkies:

1) The Cherokee Print League is doing their 3rd Annual Holiday sale on Dec. 4, don't forget.

2) The nation's premier printmaking conference -- that of the Southern Graphics Council -- will be in St. Louis in March 2011. The Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts at Wash. U. is hosting it; Cherokee Street will be where the people come to party on that Friday night, after all the panel discussions.

Eric Woods of Firecracker Press says he expects 1,500 to 2,000 people, from the U.S.A. and abroad, to show up for this five-day conference. The festivities on Cherokee are in the planning stage, but Woods and crew just ran a test of some edible art: tortillas onto which they will screen-print a design of your choosing, in edible ink (see above).

"You can have a fully-designed and printed meal," says Woods.
