Happy Hour of the Day: The Scottish Arms

Wednesday Happy Hour of the Day: The Scottish Arms

What's the best night to drink at the Scottish Arms? Wednesday!

This bewitchingly dim Central West End eatery is always a great place to go to, especially if you love Scotch. (And did we happen to mention that we love Scotch?)

But only on Wednesdays is the Scottish Arms also a steal: On that night, not only does the Arms host its normal 3 to 6 p.m. happy hour, but there's also a late-night version beginning all over again at 9 p.m. During Wednesday's late-night festivities, cans of Pabst Blue Ribbon are only $1, and so are bottles of Budweiser, Bud Light and Budweiser Select. Domestic drafts check in at just $3.

It's pretty close to perfect: You can start drinking at 3 p.m. and take advantage of the Arms' regular happy hour deals ($1 off glasses of wine; $2 off draft beers). Pause for dinner at 6 p.m. and fortify with some haggis or cock-a-leekie pie, and then head back to the bar and start drinking again. No, the Scotch isn't on discount -- but once you've been drinking for six hours, you may not even care.
