Parents Sue Woman for Dating Their Son; Seek $150,000
|If this doesn't keep your son's girlfriend away, you can always sue.|
"It's not that big of deal," says Wendler. "We wanted to send a message to the defendant. [The lawsuit] is probably going to go away soon enough."
Still, we found it interesting that the parents of a Glen Carbon man would sue their son's girlfriend to the tune of $150,000, alleging that the woman trespassed on their property when visiting their son.
According to the complaint filed November 8 in Madison County Court, Bobbie and Patricia Glass told Stephanie Mosler that she was only allowed on their property during certain times and days of the week to visit their son, Patrick Amrhain. The suit alleges that Mosler broke those rules.
Wendler says Mosler and Amrhain are both 21. "At its core this is a family fight," he says.
Okay, but why not file a restraining order against Mosler instead of suing her for $150,000?
"We could have gone that route, but it would require the plaintiffs to appear in court multiple times," says Wendler, who doesn't see the suit going to trial or even reaching a settlement. "This will hopefully resolve the issue faster."
