John Loggins: St. Louis Homicide No. 137; Shot Dead While Driving

St. Louis police report that 20-year-old John Loggins lost his life early this morning in a drive-by shooting at the intersection of Hamilton and Maple avenues (below) in the city's West End neighborhood.

Loggins, of the 6300 block of Derby, victim was driving with several other people around 1:35 a.m. when their vehicle stopped at the intersection. According to police, a vehicle occupied by two black males pulled up along side the victim's vehicle and the suspects started shooting.

Loggins was shot in the head and shoulder, lost control of his car and struck a building. He was pronounced dead at the hospital. No one else was injured. The investigation is ongoing.
