From the time I have started reading the articles you have been posting, I have become very keen in learning more and more. Now I can proudly say that I know little and that too thanks to you!!!

I feel bad for the baby & the ferret, but none of this would have happened if the stupid parents had been doing their damn job! When you have a baby, you have to take care of it. A pet is no different! If that ferret had had proper food housing & handling, that baby would still have all its fingers & the ferret still alive. If the parents are that negligent, they should never have had a baby OR a ferret!

Yeah we get it, its not the ferrets fault, but it is your fault that you are getting so bent out of shape. Take some welllbutrin or lexapro it does wonders.

Ms or Mrs Fenske, I would like to express my disappointment in your choice to continue a series of RiverFrontTimes articles defaming an entire breed of pets based on 1 attack in your area, and referencing numbers of old, misleading, and outdated articles regarding ferrets.

"I feel bad for the baby" would be a statement or expression of Sympathy. While trying to stress the importance of proper CHILDCARE and Pet care by stating that the Ferret should not have been left unsupervised and alone (being that the childs mom was asleep watching TV) with a 4 month old baby sitting in a rocker, FerretFan did take a moment to ensure people that he or she has sympathy for this child and the traumatic event.

Negative Media of Ferrets leads to stereotypes of Ferrets because many people in the U.S. think of Ferrets as uncommon pets when in reality they are the 3 most common pet in the U.S. behind Cats and Dogs.

Not sure what the reason for your sarcasm is here, as the statement is precisely correct. While animals of a ferret's intelligence can have certain behaviors manipulated through training, they cannot begin to fathom 'Right and Wrong'. If a fly lands on my food, or a spider bites me - I will smash them - almost as sure as I'd stomp a ferrets skull flat if it ate my child's fingers - mainly to prevent it from happening again, but quite possibly also out of primal anger - but the fact remains the ferret, the spider nor the fly are 'at fault' anymore than a baby is for shitting it's diaper.
