Comment of the Day: Drop in St. Louis Crime Can Be Misleading

Categories: Blowback
Today's comment comes on the heals of St. Louis police reporting that crime in St. Louis hit a 43-year low last year with numbers not seen since 1967.

Police partially credit their own handy work with the decline. Reader "Rudy Moore" sees it differently:
City population is also half of what it was in 1960. Don't break your arms patting yourselves on the back, PD.

The city itself only represents like 1/8 of the entire Metropolitan population. I want to see how Metropolitan crime stats compare. I wanna numbers from all of the surrounding counties: St. Louis, St. Clair, Madison, Monroe, St. Charles, Franklin, Jefferson. Is crime up or down in these areas?
