Are you sure I have the right number?
Note to drug dealers: Put your clients on speed dial.

Otherwise you might end up like the unfortunate dope supplier in southeastern Missouri who inadvertently phoned a police officer and attempted to sell him hydrocodone pills earlier this week.

The cop quickly realized the dude's mistake and decided to play along. With a nice touch of irony, he arranged to meet the dealer on the steps of the local courthouse (we're pretty sure he'll see those steps again) and promptly apprehended him.

The botched phone call and drug deal occurred on Tuesday, in Caruthersville, and the news broke yesterday afternoon. The 47-year-old dealer was arrested for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and later released. Charges are pending.

We tried to reach the cop to ask him to recreate the phone conversation and applaud his improv talents, but alas, he wasn't around.

As for the dealer, we assume he's busy programming his phone.

Isn't this called entrapment... when are people going to wake up and realize recreational drugs users are NOT criminals. You would think the police would have better things to do (e.g. bust violent criminals) instead of trying to incarcerate a bunch of high ons.
