Comment of the Day: Let the "N" Word Stand in Huckleberry Finn

Today's comment comes in response to our post about a new whitewashed version of The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn in which an Auburn professor has
removed all instances of the word "nigger" from the book. The new-and-improved edition of Huck Finn will be passed out for reading at elementary schools.

Way to change historical literature. It's not acceptable for the new classroom because the new classroom is a glorified daycare. Heaven forbid we give our kids serious subject matter from one of America's great authors rather than the misadventures of someone who lives in a pineapple under the sea. Give kids the real deal, and please, please, PLEASE stop watering down the schools, especially under the fallacy of trying not to offend anyone.
