McCaskill Concerned About St. Louis Nabbing 2012 Democratic Convention

Categories: Politics
Senator Claire McCaskill hasn't heard that St. Louis will or will not host the 2012 DNC convention. In fact, she hasn't heard a thing and the silence from the White House may not bode well.

"I wish I knew. I'm worried that I don't, to tell you the truth," McCaskill told the Post-Dispatch yesterday. "Because I would think by now that somebody would have given me some kind of glimmer of what is going to happen."

As the daily reports, the decision seems to be between St. Louis and Charlotte. Each city was expecting to hear something last week. Now a decision might not come until the end of the month.

My grandfather chaired the 1944 Democratic Convention and was a great friend of St. Louis small business as was the rest of his party in those days. I am not happy about what the current St. Louis City Democratic leadership has done to local mom and pop businesses recently.

I don't want to be a typical STL asshole but I hope that Charlotte gets the bid. I work downtown and the hassle of the convention would make our lives hell for several weeks.
