Shuttered St. Louis Tea Party Headquarters Now a South City Eyesore

Cleaning up the government is messy work. That's the image you get peeking in the windows of the St. Louis Tea Party headquarters on Hampton Avenue. In place of phone banks and busy campaign workers, the office is now a haven for dust bunnies, strewn garbage and an unopened bottle of olives.

Yes, four months after first opening its doors at 4512 Hampton Avenue, the headquarters is no longer. A sign out front of the building announces that the entire strip mall is available for rent. The real-estate broker on the sign tells me that he thinks the Tea Party had a month-to-month lease. I've left a message with Bill Hennessy, founder of the St. Louis Tea Party, for further explanation.
