Gene Wright Jr: St. Louis Homicide No. 3; California Man Shot Dead in North City

St. Louis police have identified the man found dead Sunday morning near Interstate 70 in the 1100 block of Ferry (below) in north city.

The victim, Gene Wright Jr., was from Escondido, California. Witnesses say they heard gunshots around 10:30 a.m. February 6 and saw a man standing over Wright's body. The 29-year-old victim had been shot multiple times in the head.

The suspect drove off in a silver Suzuki with California plates. An investigation is ongoing.
