Scandal! Missouri Congresswoman Says Obama's for the Gays

Categories: Politics

Gather your children and take up your lanterns and pitchforks. The day of reckoning is upon us.

President Obama has a pro-homosexual agenda, and he's bringing it right to the doorsteps of us Missourians. At least, that's according to Vicky Hartzler, freshman Congresswoman from the state's fourth district.

Speaking on a television program aired by the American Family Association, Hartzler, reflecting on her fellow first-year lawmakers in the House, opined: "The reality is, the good people of this country who love it, who love God, who love each other, who are concerned about the pro-abortion, pro-homosexual agenda of the current administration -- they were the ones that got down on their knees and started prayin' for this country after the '08 election."

Yeah, gay-rights advocates don't ever pray for America.

It's not clear whether Hartzler, in referencing homosexuality, was denoting the recent repeal of Don't Ask Don't Tell, which was endorsed by the secretary of defense and chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff; or support of gay marriage, which the president has never proposed.

Maybe the congresswoman, who recently penned the book "Running God's Way," was just thrown off after being introduced by the show's co-hosts -- who then promptly ignored her as they bantered about for another minute before letting her speak.

Obama as a candidate did infact reachout to the subject of gays and gay marriage. And the fact the the above mentioned people back the repeal is part of Obama cabinet is hard to ignore that Vicky is correct in her statement. People seem to forget that gods laws are above mans laws. What part of (it's an obamanation in gods eyes) do people not get??? Vicky was voting in office because she shares our Christian values and yes this country was founded on those same Christian values, hinse why you'll never find the words (separation of church and state) in our constitution anywhere. This country is suffering because of immoral decisions made from people including this admin for backing immorality. Abortion is murder and sleeping with the same sex is at the highest level of immorality. Americans voted nov 2nd to change Washington and to get elected officials with common sence and morals to help get this country back from the dispare that is dragging it down the dark path. Tired of this political correctness bs. Grow a spine people and stop worrying about someone being (mad) cause you spoke about something dif from them. Welcome to the real world. Before long sharia law will be our law if people don't wake up and then worrying about someone talking (negative)about gays will be the least of your worries.

Oh boy. I knew this woman would eventually come out as one of the prime spokespeople for the promotion of gay hate. I just figured it would take a few more weeks. Ike.....how we miss you.

Tea baggers like to say they are all for the founding fathers and the Constitution, yet have NO idea of what they actually wanted FOR this country.Keep your religion out of government. It has no place in it. Especially since not everyone thinks or believe as you do.Who are you to put your nose into the lives of others? If gays want to marry, let them. It does not affect you. If someone does not want to have that child, who are you to tell them they have to?The founders lived through some of the worst of religious repression and went out of their way to make sure that didnt happen here. Yet here comes the right wing, trying to undo everything the founders had worked so hard to prevent.Go look at your own history so that you can stop trying to repeat it.

The American Family Association is a registered hate group listed alongside the Klan and several white supremacist organizations by the Southern Poverty Law Center. These groups are using the same tactics against Gay and Lesbian Americans that racists used against African Americans 50 years ago.

Can't you hate-mongering xenophobes just SHUT THE HELL UP! Your poor-ass district needs a lot of things worse than it needs yet another self-appointed christian crusader to save us all from the dreaded gays. Just do your job, and leave the morality policing to the church.

T719MX says - "Vicky was voting in office because she shares our Christian values and yes this country was founded on those same Christian values, hinse why you'll never find the words (separation of church and state) in our constitution anywhere."

True about the specific wording about seperaton of church and state, wrong about everything else. A quick Googling of "seperation of church and state" revealed this little nugget:

Thomas Jefferson's metaphor of a wall of separation of church and state has been cited repeatedly by the U.S. Supreme Court. In its 1879 Reynolds v. United States decision, the court allowed that Jefferson's comments "may be accepted almost as an authoritative declaration of the scope and effect of the [First] Amendment"

Furthermore: In 1797, the United States Senate ratified a treaty with Tripoli that stated in Article 11:

As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion; as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion, or tranquillity, of Mussulmen; and, as the said States never entered into any war, or act of hostility against any Mahometan nation, it is declared by the parties, that no pretext arising from religious opinions, shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries.

Because Article VI, clause 2 of the United States Constitution renders ratified treaties "the supreme Law of the Land", the Treaty of Tripoli confirms that the government of the United States was specifically intended to be religiously neutral.

Something to think about as well: When the AFA was founded by Don Wildmon in 1976, it was originally called the National Federation for Decency. It became the AFA in 1981. WIldmon explained the change as "a reflection of what this ministry is really all about." The real reason was that contributions had dropped sharply, and I think that the NFD-AFA was facing a bit of a financial crisis.

Show me one place in the Constitution where there is a "separation of church and state." It's not there.
