Stan Musial to Receive Presidential Medal of Freedom Today

Stan the Man
Cardinals' legend Stan Musial is in Washington D.C. today joining the likes of Maya Angelou, Warren Buffet, Bill Russell, George H.W. Bush and ten other artists, athletes, statesmen and business leaders to accept the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

Musial was named a recipient last November of America's highest civilian honor, recognizing "individuals who have made especially meritorious contributions to the security or national interests of the United States, to world peace, or to cultural or other significant public or private endeavors."

In singling out Musial, President Barack Obama noted that the 90-year-old former Cardinal was elected to an incredible 24 All-Star Games, earned the National League MVP three times and helped the Redbirds win three world championships.

This is great and all, but I'm getting really tired of hearing about it 24/7 over that last several days...

Should we return to 24/7 coverage of Pujols' contract extension?

Agreed. It's almost as bad as a winter weather advisory, over and over and over.

I see your point Chad. It's just that every media outlet is milking this long over due honor.

Has Frank Cusamano done his obligatory puff piece along with accompanying background music yet? When we see that happen it is a sign from God that this story has run its course.

Ha! Frank came through with a very predictable Musial puff piece yesterday evening. If good old Stan had gone to DeSmet it would have made Frank's head explode.
