Painter Staying at Purdue; Turns Down Mizzou

Matt Painter is now off the list. Who's next?
Back to the drawing board.

Matt Painter, the head basketball coach at Purdue University, has turned down the offer to take over the program at University of Missouri.

Painter was offered the Mizzou job yesterday -- a position that would likely have paid him $2 million a year after former MU coach Mike Anderson departed for Arkansas last week.

Yesterday Purdue renegotiated its contract with Painter and he's expected to sign an extension with the school. In short, another college coach just gamed the system to get ever richer. Shocker.

On a positive note, Mike Alden and Painter had a very nice time together on the Tea Cup ride at Disney World.
