Roberts Brothers Sacked with Million-Dollar Judgment Against WRBU Channel 46

​Here's a follow-up to a story Daily RFT first told you about back in February.

Last week CBS filed an injunction in St. Louis County Circuit Court, aiming to obtain a $1-million judgment it won earlier this month against Roberts Broadcasting, owner of the St. Louis television station WRBU My46.

The suit, initially filed in Los Angeles, accused the St. Louis company, headed by prominent St. Louis siblings and real-estate developers Steven and Michael Roberts, of failing to pay license fees for airing CBS-syndicated programming.

As the Post-Dispatch reports this morning, neither side is discussing the case.

This is not the first time that the Roberts brothers have been sued for not paying for programming aired over their St. Louis station and two other channels they own in Mississippi and South Carolina. Warner Brothers is currently suing Roberts Broadcasting for $1.4 million on the same claims of failing to pay license fees. In 2010, the company settled a similar lawsuit filed by 20th Century Fox.
