• I feel bad that you don't like the art installation but I'm sure it isn't permanent and it shows such vitality in your community. Benton Park West could use vitality. Please try to see what life it gives to the block and as I said, it isn't forever.

• I live porudly in Benton Park and I think Its cool!. and looks better than half the decrepid looking houses around... on the same block even,, I would love to know if it helped with energy cost?

• Many people have seen this before, but maybe not on a building that is surrounded by vacant lots or vacant buildings. I don't know if that makes it art. I think the fact that it is aesthetically pleasing makes it art.

• So many varying and emotional reactions from both sides...I would have to say that these comments only further support that it is, indeed art.

• SO unless an epic kumbaya happens then the project fails? Well please invite me to your epic event to address police brutality, etc. after you have put all your time and money and effort into it. I'll be the first to weep if you actually accomplish anything. In the mean time, think about gentrification and white flight. Think about how buildings are abandoned all over the city depressing the value of the occupied ones. Think about how by getting creative, those buildings could be seen in a different light.

• First of all, while the art may or may not be appealling to all, this project was never approved of by US the property owners. Notification of the project was given to us 2 days before installation, and at that time due process had not been followed. I am embarrassed to rent my property to people who are so disrespectful to the property owner, and arrogant enough to think it doesn't matter.

• Sounds like you should try to get out more.

• I live in the neighborhood. We all think it's stupid. Makes us think "stay away from the crazy people"

• Art isn't just putting into action any stupid idea. Getting ppl to say "wow, I haven't seen that before" doesn't make it art. Perhaps it just wasn't worth doing in the first place. This is a perfect example of truly bad ideas masquerading as art.

• You're probably right, I am sure the entire neighborhood will now, as a result of the gold chained spandex wrapped house, be united in an epic kumbaya holding hands and singing 'We Are the World'... Abusive Police, Drug Dealing Thugs, Whites, Blacks, Chinese and even the Mayor will all join together and weep for the lost time as well as the, now, bright future...

• How can you reference Big Lebowsky yet not be able to see how this really ties the neighborhood together. Under your definition of stoopid, all art is stoopid. Chains do not imply only bondage, but also strength. In person the piece sails like a boat and feels like a present, but as we said, that's only my opinion.

Expending all that effort, money and material to cover a house to make people think about... wait for it... bondage? This is a complete waste of resources. On top of it all, it won't last but a blip.
