Kim McGee and Keith Rucker face six counts of unlawful restraint and child endangerment.
U.S. Marshals deputies were conducting a compliance check on a home in Cahokia in February when they discovered two children locked inside a closet. A nail in the door secured the five-year-old boy and girl inside the 3x4 foot space.

Now the couple who reside in the home -- Kim McGee, 27, and Keith Rucker, 28 -- have been charged with unlawful restraint and child endangerment. As KMOV reports, the couple is believed to have routinely locked the children in the closet from September 2010 though February of this year. The kids could spend as much as four hours inside the closet.

Officials have since removed all five children living inside the home. McGee is the mother of all five kids; Rucker is the father of one. McGee and Rucker are being held on $40,000 and $30,000 bail, respectively.
