Attorneys representing the state of Illinois and accused murderer Christopher Coleman will begin sifting through a jury pool of 300 people in Perry County today. By the end of next week, the lawyers hope to have the twelve jurors needed to begin the trial.

Coleman, 34, is accused of strangling to death his wife and two young sons as they slept in their Columbia, Illinois, home in May 2009. Coleman allegedly committed the murders in order to marry his lover, Tara Lintz, a Florida waitress and a high-school friend of his wife.

The jury is being selected from Perry County, approximately 70 miles southeast of St. Louis, in an attempt to find jurors who haven't been inundated with media accounts of the crime.
