Comment of the Day: Neighbors of Corporate Hog Farms Never Win

Categories: Blowback
Today's comment comes in response to a post about a dozen families from southwestern Missouri who recently won a $1.95 million judgment against a corporate hog farm in their county. The families -- who asked for $1 million a piece -- claimed that odors and flies from the nearby hog farm had ruined their property and way of life.

Reader Shelley Powers disagreed with our headline stating that the families had "won" their lawsuit.
Well, wasn't necessarily a win. Better than nothing, but not as much as hoped. These places are really horrendously foul. Any homes in the neighborhoods aren't worth a nickel after one of these moves in.

The only time anyone will actually win from a lawsuit against these factory farm CEO's is when they STOP what they are being sued over! I don't want money, I want action! Stop the pollution, that is the solution!
