Florissant Man Accused of Murder After Shaking 3-Year-Old

KTVI (Fox-2) and other news outlets are reporting that a 22-year-old Florissant man already detained for child abuse is now being charged with murder by the St. Louis County prosecutor's office, for allegedly shaking a 3-year-old boy to death.

Police say Zachary T. Cook shook Austin Vietor on Thursday, causing severe head injuries. Those injuries resulted in the child's death Sunday at St. Louis Children's Hospital, police say. The two lived in the same residence along with a 5-year-old child who is now in protective custody. It's unclear as to whether Cook is the boy's father.
