Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore Spout Bogus Stats About Underage Sex Trafficking

"Real Men Get Their Facts Straight"
If ever there were a cause that every single right-thinking person on the planet would line up to rally around, it'd be underage sex trafficking. So it's no big surprise that Hollywood celebs would get in on the action.

With their nonprofit, the DNA Foundation, and its "Real Men Don't Buy Girls" public-service ad campaign, Ashton Kutcher and wife Demi Moore are front and center, spreading the word about the scourge of child sex slavery.

But like so many others who have taken up the cause, Kutcher and Moore are trumpeting inflated statistics that peg the number of pimped-out and sexually exploited minors in the U.S. alone at somewhere between 100,000 and 300,000 each year.

In researching "Real Men Get Their Facts Straight," the latest installment of our investigative series "The Truth Behind Sex Trafficking," Village Voice Media reporters spent two months compiling law-enforcement data from three dozen of America's largest cities.

Those statistics revealed that arrests for child prostitution nationwide total 8,263 -- for the past decade.

Clearly, something doesn't compute.

"Real Men Don't Juggle Cats," featuring Steve Martin:

Oh, wait. That last one's not part of the DNA Foundation's campaign. Sorry!

Why is it that in a world of continuous inequality between men and woman, that people focus on something like the statistics instead of the crimes being committed against women? It is articles like this that make me angry. They make people think that since the stat is wrong and the number is much lower, that it is ok to turn and look away from something that should not be tolerated for even one soul to be put through.

Can you really tell me, that looking into the eyes of a child who has been held against her will and raped over and over again, that she doesn't matter because there are not enough STATISTICS to make her life worth saving? That her life is not valuable and worth preserving to her? If you talk to enough woman you will learn that 1 in 3 of them has been molested, raped, or in some way physically harmed by a man at some point in her life. This is not a computer stat that I have dug up. This is me...talking to my friends and family. This is WHAT I KNOW..I don't need a statistic to tell me that hurting women is wrong. That is degrades and takes away dignity. That at the end of this article the real point was completely and utterly missed.

My heart is saddened by a world that cares more about how many, and not enough about the fact that it has been done at all.

One need not look to far to see how tragic the situation is.    Pornography is the hidden sin that is addicting millions.     What feeds the sick minds of those who spend billions of dollars world wide on this evil?   We are a sexually sick society.  Kerry Kennedy spoke at the University of California Santa Barbara a few years back and the crimes against women and children are not going away they are increasing.  She said there are four times more animal shelters in this country than shelters for women and children to go to.  Four times more!!!  One in four women has suffered some form of sexual abuse.  Most women hide what has been done to them.  Rise up and be mad as hell and do something! The children do not have a voice, we must protect them. This shows its self in many different ways so don't think it will go away unless we address this evil sickness in all it's forms.

Or you could read Dr. Estes' original study, which says that between 100-300,000 kids are AT RISK of commercial sexual exploitation.

The original, or the revised?'Cuz the original didn't have the 'AT RISK' modifier.

Are you fucking kidding me??  Your analy nitpicking numbers?  It doesn't matter if it's ONE or one-hundred thousand,  the point is there are children being sold in this country.  Good lord,  get your priorities straight,  morons.

No Debby, you're wrong. The facts are relevant.

And more importantly, when you make up numbers or exaggerate claims you have lose credibility.
