Jacque Sue Waller: Missing for nearly two weeks now.
After a week and a half on the job, the Cape Girardeau-Bollinger County Major Case Squad deactivated last Friday, taking with it dozens of detectives and volunteer police officers who'd been investigating the disappearance of a Ste. Genevieve mother.

Now the investigation into the disappearance of Jacque Sue Waller lies largely with the Jackson Police Department. It was in the southeast Missouri town of Jackson that 39-year-old Waller was last seen alive June 1. That day, the mother of triplets had stopped by the home of her estranged husband, Clay Waller, who told police that they got into an argument and she left his residence by foot. Last week Clay Waller quit cooperating with investigators

"We're trying to fill in the blanks without his help, basically," Jackson police chief James Humphrey tells Cape Girardeau's KFVS.

Humphrey adds that his department is reviewing some 200 leads brought in through the Major Case Squad. None of those tips, though, have yet to produce any definitive insight into Waller's whereabouts in a case in which police suspect foul play.

"We've sent off numerous evidentiary items that we're waiting to get analysis on that will lead us in more directions," says Humphreys.

Jacque Waller's family maintains that she'd never leave her children and other loved ones without some kind of warning.

In the meantime, two funds have been set up through US Bank. The first, the "Jacque Waller Family Fund," will be used to provide financial support to Waller's five-year-old triplets, who've been placed under the care of Jacque's sister. The second, the "Justice for Jacque Reward Fund," sets aside reward money for anyone with information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for Jacque's disappearance.
