Purina Now Official Dog Food Sponsor for Westminster Kennel Club

​Local kibble-mongers Purina are the new official pet food sponsor of the Westminster Kennel Club. WKC, of course, is the 135-year-old organization that runs a show for purebred dogs every year. The multi-year partnership was announced today.

"Purina is proud to be the official pet food sponsor of the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show," said Steven L. Crimmins, Chief Marketing Officer for Nestlé Purina PetCare, North America, in a press release. "Westminster is the ultimate destination for top dogs and their aspiring owners and handlers, and Purina is excited to be part of this prestigious event and to be the Westminster Kennel Club's partner."

A half-dozen Best in Show winners of Westminster and their related human hangers-on romped at last year's opening of the Purina Event Center in Gray Summit, MO, a $15 million dog show facility.
