Sarah Haskins, a native of St. Louis and graduate of Parkway South, was named Athlete of the Month for May by the U.S. Olympic Committee.

The 30-year-old triathlete garnered that recognition after finishing in first in all three of her races last month, which included the first international World Cup of her career, in Monterrey, Mexico.

Haskins is currently a member of the USA Triathlon national team and participated in the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. During her high school days at Parkway South, she was a Missouri state champ in swimming and cross country.

Haskins intends to compete in next year's Olympics in London. Click in to listen to an interview she did last week with KMOX's Charlie Brennan.
