Ozark Sushi, or Why You Shouldn't Eat Live Crawfish [Video]

ozark-sushi-still_opt.jpg
We understand that this week's feature story, "Stupid People Tricks: The raw crawfish conundrum," is a little hard to get through. The idea of eating a live crawfish is gross. The idea that a little worm that lives in the crawfish can make its way into a human's...uh, well... Let's just say it's grosser.

But this is important knowledge! It must not be ignored solely on account of queasiness.

Fortunately, Riverfront Times is here to help. Our Educational Films division has created a video version of the story, called Float Trip Dos and Don't: Eating Raw Crawfish. We could go on in our best grad-school seminar style about how video leaves less to the imagination than print and so on, but we'll spare you. Let's just say the video goes down easy. It's digestible. And you can watch it after the jump.

I would think you might be at some risk for getting giardia from any river water that might be in or on the crawfish as well.
