Lambert Gets "Airport Experience" Restrooms

The airport's bringing sexy back.

​OK, so they're not quite as glorious as the bathrooms at the Fountain on Locust -- which famously won an award last summer for having the best damn loo (or two) in the nation.

But the new bathrooms at Lambert-St. Louis International Airport are still exciting enough that they warrant a press release. As the airport's staffers explain, these new bathrooms aren't just a place to piss. They're part of the...drumroll!...Airport Experience Program.

And lest you think the "airport experience" is all about overpriced soft drinks and people jostling you as bump along with your bag, guess again: At Lambert, "airport experience" is the name of a $50 million renovation project which includes "new lighting, new ceiling treatments, full tile flooring through the main corridors, new signage and art displays."  And, of course, really exciting bathrooms.

The new powder rooms (as our granny would call them) feature terrazzo flooring, new tile walls, ADA-compliant counters and even new W.C.s. And just look at that lovely lime green!

If you happen to be flying out and want to check out all this fabulousity, the first new-and-improved loo is now open near Gate A8. Eventually, Lambert plans to convert all the bathrooms in Terminal 1 and the A and C concourses, plus one in the Terminal 1 baggage claim, to "airport experience" glory.
