Late Term Abortion Ban Becomes Law

Governor Jay Nixon allowed a bill banning late term abortions to become law.
He didn't sign it, and he didn't veto it either.

Confronted with a bill from the legislature that would add further restrictions to late-term abortions, Governor Jay Nixon did nothing -- allowing the bill to take effect tonight at midnight.

The bill bans all abortions after 20 weeks, unless the fetus is not viable or the mother's health is at risk. As St. Louis Public Radio reports, there were 63 abortions performed in Missouri in 2009 that would have been affected by the new restrictions -- less than one percent of the total number of abortions performed.

Physicians who perform a late-term abortion without justifying it for health or viability reasons could face up to a year in prison.

Gov. Nixon:  You had the power to Veto late term abortions, why did you not do so ???On another note; This China Hub situation coming up, should never be allowed here in StLouis Lambert field or anywhere else in the U.S.A. There is no way of knowing what will be shipped in by Chinese planes and to be transported across the U.S. by land, as no inspections of the cargo and contents will be allowed. This should absolutely not beentered into law for our state of Missouri. I urge you and all legislators to not sign any bill pertaining to this China Hub Bill.....   Thank you Jay....

Nice to know that the Female population of MissourAH is too stupid to be able to decide this issue in their own best interests and beliefs. Sure glad a bunch of over weight balding White guys have ensured that they know best and protect these women from themselves.

I very much enjoy the ambiguity and double entendre of Brian May's comment.

Nice to know that the Republicans in the state legislature are spending all of their time worrying about job creation.
