Weekend Crime Roundup: Shooting, Suspicious Death, Hit-and-Run

From this weekend's St. Louis crime roundup (a special holiday edition!):

* A 50-year-old black male was found dead yesterday morning around 7:30 at the 1400 block of Glasgow, just a few blocks from Vashon High School. The man had apparent trauma to his face; the case is being handled by homicide investigators, although it's currently being handled as a "suspicious death" instead of a murder.

* A 29-year-old white male was struck by a Hyundai Santa Fe while crossing Manchester at Sarah Street at 12:30 a.m. on July 4. The Hyundai then fled the scene. The victim has since died. We also hear that a suspect's been arrested. We'll have more details soon.

* A 27-year-old black male tells police he was driving in north city (4600 block of Margaretta) when two black males in their 20s approached him on foot and fired at him. They somehow managed to shoot him in the back. (Seems pretty tough for pedestrians to shoot a driver in his back -- is there something we're not getting here?) He's in stable condition; the investigation is ongoing.
