Joplin needs you -- or perhaps 8,000 of your more handy cousins.
Wondering whether you could be of any assistance in tornado-ravaged Joplin, even after all this time?

The answer is a resounding yes. As the Joplin Globe reports today, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition is coming to the city to build not just one, but dozen of homes. And it's looking for not just a few volunteers -- but 7,000 to 8,000. As the paper reports:

The round-the-clock, weeklong building effort is to kick off the week of Oct. 19. The exact number of homes to be built has not been determined and will depend on the number of volunteers, contributions and material donations made to the effort.

Each of the homes will be about 1,500 square feet and efforts are underway to find eligible families for the homes.
You can read the whole story here.

Also, check out our story about the devastation suffered in Joplin and a follow-up about some St. Louisans who traveled there to help soon after the tornado -- and found it harder than they'd anticipated. Hey, maybe they'll go back October 19!
