Sales from the Noir at the Bar anthology will benefit Subterranean Books.

It's a historic week on the St. Louis bestseller list. In an astonishing turnaround, Go the Fuck to Sleep has finally been ousted by The Help, a book about black women who spent their lives telling white children to go the fuck to sleep. Over on the children's/YA list, for the first time, all three Hunger Games books are on the list. And Herman Munster (in his human incarnation as Fred Gwynne) posthumously wrote a bestseller, too, A Chocolate Moose for Dinner.

Local author Scott Phillips has done almost as well as Suzanne Collins: He's got two books on the bestseller list, The Adjustment, his latest novel, and Noir at the Bar, a collection of short stories from the popular reading series, which he co-edited with Jedidiah Ayres. Sales from Noir at the Bar will benefit the reading series' host, Subterranean Books.

A curiosity: Both Room and A Stolen Life are near the top of the best-seller list. Both are based on the Jaycee Dugard kidnapping case. A Stolen Life is Dugard's own autobiography. Room is Emma Donaghue's fictional rendering. Room sold more copies this week.
